How to Watch Jags vs. Chiefs Online: NFL Sunday

October 5, 2018

It’s the battle of the best defense against the best offense. The Jaguars won easily over the Jets 31-12 the last week to improve to 3-1. Patrick Mahomes continued his sensational start, leading the Chiefs to a 27-23 victory in Denver Monday. The Chiefs sure look like the best team in football alongside the Rams through the first four games. The Chiefs have won their last three meetings with the Jaguars dating back to 2010, although this is a much better Jags team than those teams were. This game could definitely be an early playoff preview in what will be a rowdy atmosphere at Arrowhead. Get your popcorn ready, this is the game of the week.

How to Watch Jaguars vs. Chiefs: Week 5

The Jaguars are ranked as the league’s top defense, allowing the fewest points in the NFL and only 259.2 yards per game. They made Sam Darnold’s life miserable last week, limiting the Jets to 178 total yards, and a putrid 34 yards on the ground. The Jags will get their biggest test this week facing the NFL’s premier offense. Their defense has been the best in the league against the pass as well, allowing only 164.2 yards per game and only three touchdowns through the air. The Jags issue in their 3-1 start has been inconsistency on offense. Blake Bortles threw for a career-high 388 yards last week, but the offense put up just six points the week prior in a 9-6 loss to the Titans. You just don’t know what Bortles you’re going to get sometimes. They need Bortles to be on the money if they want to keep up with the Chiefs high-octane attack.

Chiefs fans have forgotten about Alex Smith quickly. Mahomes sat behind Smith last season before making his first start in the final week of the season. Mahomes is setting NFL records left and right in his first season under center. He’s thrown 14 TD passes, the second-highest total through the first four weeks of a season in NFL history. He’s yet to throw an INT, he’s only been sacked four times, and he’s got the second best QB rating in the NFL at 126.5. We would be here all day if went through his entire stat sheet, but he’s led this offense to quite the start. Kareem Hunt has quietly rushed for 289 yards, fifth most in the NFL. The Chiefs defense has been their weak spot, allowing no fewer than 23 points this season. Their defense has to make adjustments, because their offense may not be able to drop 30-40 on this Jaguars defense. Kansas City will be home in front of their loud fans looking to remain undefeated.
